Students taking this course follow the AS / A2 fashion and textiles option within the art and design specification and so includes the same course requirements and structure. Students are given the opportunity to develop skills, knowledge and practical experience in both fashion and textiles or may concentrate mainly on one. Fashion design and manufacture is a core area alongside figure drawing, fashion illustration, surface decoration and creative textile rendering. This can include garment, 2 and 3D textile making and includes the study of designers and craftspersons throughout. Students are expected to maintain evidence of all experimental and research processes in their working sketch books. In addition photo shoots, fashion shows and presentations are an important aspect of the course.
