1:30pm – 4:00pm £15 plus £15 materials cost. If you’ve always wanted to try your hand at art – but not been sure what kind – then this new 4 week course is for you! Each week we’ll have a ‘taste’ of a different medium to help you decide where your creative talent lies. You’ll have the opportunity to learn some basic drawing and sketching techniques using graphite and charcoal before we move on to the world of soft pastels. After getting to grips with some clay modelling we’ll end the course looking at the more traditional medium of painting with watercolours and acrylics. Learners need to: • Bring an old shirt/blouse/top to help protect their clothing At the end of the course learners will be able to: • Sketch a simple image using pencil and/or charcoal • Create a coloured image using pastels • Have a basic understanding of mixing colours (colour theory) • Produce a simple painting of a sunset using watercolours or acrylics • Create a three dimensional piece in clay
