Health & Social Care BTEC

UPDATED 20160321 11:46:16

In Year 12, students study the BTEC National Level 3 Certificate (equivalent of 0.5 of an A-Level) which is made up of two units: • Unit 1 – Human Lifespan Development. This unit is assessed by a 90 minute written examination. • Unit 6 – Meeting Individual Care and Support Needs. This unit assessed through a portfolio, set and marked in school. The Certificate offers an introduction to Health and Social Care through applied learning. For learners for whom the study of Health and Social Care would be complementary, the qualification supports progression to higher education when taken as part of a programme of study that includes other qualifications such as A-Levels.
