Media St

UPDATED 20160318 09:40:22

The world around us is changing at a rapid rate and the way the media reflects this to us has also developed rapidly, from Facebook to Twitter, printed newspapers to straight-to-i-Pad newspaper editions. This stimulating and challenging course enables students to develop more awareness of the media world around us. It combines a theoretical and analytical study of the media with the practical creation of a variety of media texts. During the course students will study a range of media forms including film, TV, radio, magazines, comics, newspapers and e-media. Students will explore the codes and conventions of the media; in other words, how the different types of media use images, words, sound and technical tools to produce texts that convey meaning to an audience.
