Functional Skill in Maths Level 1 supports the development of practical skills in maths and is designed to help learners gain the most out of work, education and everyday life. There's a strong focus on explanation and problem-solving. We offer a tailored learning programme for each learner undertaking Functional Skills in Maths at level 1, meaning you only tackle subjects that you are not already competent in, with tutors/assessors offering support as needed. Functional Skills qualifications let people study in practical ways; applying core skills to real life situations so that the things they learn come in useful day after day, at work or home, and have been designed to show employers that you have essential skills that can be used in a wide variety of jobs. There are no formal entry requirements, but before you enrol you'll have a short test with one of our tutors to help us decide what level is right for you.
