Drawing and Collage - Mixed Media

UPDATED 20160317 16:19:48

Is this the right course for me? You will need some drawing skills, a familiarity with a variety of art mediums such as paint, inks or printmaking would be advantageous but not essential. What will I learn? You will learn how to create a flat collage based on a drawing you have created. Create your own patterns and textures to incorporate into your collage. Develop skills in composition, colour harmony and using textures in collage. Create a mixed media collage using found objects and a variety of media. How will I learn? Through practical activities, instructive exercises, tutor demonstrations and one to one instruction. Discussions and whiteboard presentations about artists who use drawing and collage in their practise. Will I gain a qualification? You may not gain a formal qualification but you can receive a Certificate of Attendance and Achievement from your tutor. What can I do next? You may wish to move on to another visual arts course at Community Learning MK; the skills learnt on the day course are transferable so the tutor can advise. What could I bring to the classes? For the first session please bring some of your own drawings to develop into a collage and wear clothes that are appropriate for the activity. It's advisable to bring a packed lunch. Can I talk to someone about my course before I start it? It is possible to put you directly in touch with the tutor if a member of the Community Learning MK staff cannot answer your query.
