Contemporary Still Life Painting

UPDATED 20160317 16:19:47

Is this the right course for me? Beginners and more experienced artists alike are welcome on this course. What will I learn? The focus of this course is to build some basic techniques and skills while exploring the process of contemporary still life painting. How will I learn? You will work towards completing a painting, looking at composition, colour, tone, three-dimensional form. If time allows there will be an opportunity to look at how to paint reflective metals, glass, pattern and fabric. You will start to develop your art making processes and will be encouraged to explore your visual relationship with everyday objects. Will I gain a qualification? You will not gain a formal qualification but you may request a Certificate of Attendance and Achievement from your tutor, to be given out at the end of the course. What can I do next? You may wish to join a continuation course where you will learn other skills and techniques, ensuring you develop skills with confidence. What do I need to bring to the classes? Please bring any sketchpads, art materials you already have so the tutor can assess individual needs. Can I talk to someone about my course before I start it? It is usually possible to put you directly in touch with the tutor if a member of the Community Learning MK staff cannot answer your query.
