Is this the right course for me? This course is a follow on from the Sage Level 1 course. You will be using the Sage Line 50 software. Ideally, you will have attended the Level 1 course or be confident that you have a reasonable understanding of Sage's basic features. What will I learn? More in depth details of Sage such as: entering initial capital, cash/cheques and other bank transactions, standing orders and direct debits. Correcting errors by credit notes and journal adjustments. Tax reference codes, VAT percentages. Producing trial balances, aged debtors schedules and supplier, customer account history. How will I learn? You will learn through a combination of class discussion, hands-on use of Sage software, practical exercises and demonstrations by utilisation of an interactive whiteboard. Will I gain a qualification? You will have the opportunity to achieve the City & Guilds Level 2 Certificate in Computerised Accounting. What can I do next? Subject to demand, a new course can be set up with the intention of working towards a Sage Level 3 qualification. What do I need to bring to the classes? Pen, paper, a basic knowledge of Sage. Can I talk to someone about my course before I start it? Your tutor is willing to talk to you about any aspects of the course; please leave your telephone number with a member of Community Learning MK staff and she will contact you in due course.
