Cookery - Beyond the Basics

Is this the right course for me? This is for anyone who wants to learn to how to cook versatile and impressive dishes to enjoy with family and friends. You do not need any previous experience. What will I learn? Learn how the 'basics' can be varied to create easy light lunches to delicious dinners. The course will cover the preparation of simple starters, light lunches and main courses. One-pot dishes for everyday. Easy dishes for relaxed entertaining at home. Learn about the importance of accurate measuring, temperature & timing, different flavour combinations and the art of creating your own delicious home-cooked food using fresh and store-cupboard ingredients. How will I learn? There will be demonstrations and step-by-step instructions by the tutor with lots of hands-on practical cooking experience. Will I gain a qualification? You will not gain a formal qualification but you may receive a Certificate of Attendance and Achievement from your tutor if you request one at the beginning of the course. What can I do next? Speak to your tutor if you are interested in enrolling for another Adult Education cookery course. What do I need to bring to the classes? Please note for Week 1 of your course go to Stantonbury Leisure Centre reception where you will be met by a Community Learning MK representative. For the first session please bring a note pad, a pen, an apron and a small container with a lid to carry food home. Please note there will also be an initial cost, up to £3.00, towards ingredients for the tutor demonstrations and tastings. Can I talk to someone about my course before I start it?
