ENTRY REQUIREMENTS: A minimum of 5 GCSEs A star to B including PE. Students must also have Maths and English Language (Grade C or higher). Context The PE programme of study provides students with exciting opportunities to lead a healthy and active lifestyle by choosing from a variety of roles (performer or coach) and activities in which to participate in physical activity. The content of the course is designed to provide a route to further study in Higher Education in PE, as well as related career opportunities. What you will study The course is allocated 6 lessons per week, where you will study the following content AS Units Unit 1 Physiological Factors Affecting Performance Unit 2 Psychological and Socio cultural themes in PE Unit 3 Performance within Physical Education A2 Units Unit 1 Physiological factors Affecting Performance Unit 2 Psychological Factors Affecting Performance Unit 3 Socio cultural and Contemporary Issues Unit 4 Performance within Physical Education How You Will Be Assessed AS Units 70% written exam (2 and a hours) and 30% practical assessment (performing coaching at 1 sport and EPIP)
