Level 2 Early Years Education & Care

This qualification prepares learners to work with children between birth and 5 years, with knowledge of children up to 7 years. The qualification consists of four themes 1: Introducing the role of the early years practitioner, 2: Legislation, framework and professional practice, 3: Play, development and learning for school, 4: Professional development. There are 14 mandatory units with 33 credits. Our course consists of a number of classroom based workshops, followed by assessor support to guide you to complete a portfolio with course work, projects, assignments, independent study and research. You need to be in a work placement of 10 hours per week with ideally one term's experience. After this course you could progress to: Level 3 Early Years Educator - Workforce
