The health and social care sector is the largest employer in the UK and will grow as the population continues to age over the next few decades. The range of careers in the sector is broad and covers for example, nursing and health care professions to social work, teaching and child care. The subjects that you study include an overview of health and social care in geography, history, philosophy, sociology and psychology as well as biology and child development. If you think you would enjoy a subject with a broad and interesting subject base then you should consider health and social care. After all every one of us will be involved in health and social care at some point in our lives and an understanding of how it works will be useful not only as an A level but also as a tool to help with everyday life.
