This is a vocational course that provides an alternative method of study to the traditional AS/A level Business course, but is a qualification of equal status. The course focuses on a range of skills relevant to the needs of modern businesses and a variety of topics such as Marketing, Finance, Human Resources and Management. There is an emphasis on building up a portfolio of work, whilst also providing students with an element of choice often absent from AS/A level studies. It is useful both in terms of moving on to Higher Education or employment. Putting theory into practice is an important part of the course. Recent visits to local businesses include Cadbury World, Drayton Manor and Worcester Warriors Rugby Club. The College has close links with some of the major employers in the area and students will spend time on company premises meeting senior management to find out how businesses work. The Certificate is equivalent to one AS level and successful completion can lead to the Subsidiary Diploma in the second year.
