Structure Of Course •Component 1: Further Pure 1 (FP1) , •Component 2: Mechanics 1 (M1) •Component 3: Mechanics 2 (M2) •Component 4: Further Pure 2 (FP2) •Component 5: Further Pure 3 (FP3) •Component 6: Either Mechanics 3 or Statistics 3 Year 12: FP1, M1 and M2 will be assessed in Summer 2016. Year 13: The three modules will be taken at the summer examination session in 2017. Content - The topics studied for the Further Maths modules will include: •FP1 - Complex numbers; numerical solution of equations; coordinate systems; matrix algebra; series; proof. •M1 – modelling; kinematics, dynamics and statics of a particle; vectors; moments. •M2 - Kinematics of a particle; centres of mass; work and energy; collisions; statics of a rigid body. •FP2 - Inequalities; series; further complex numbers; first and second order differential equations; Maclaurin and Taylor series; polar coordinates. •FP3 - Hyperbolic functions; further coordinate systems; differentiation; integration; vectors; further matrix algebra.
