This programme is aimed at those aspiring to be a first line manager. Selection is by interview. There is a good opportunity to expand the qualification onto a graduate Level 5 CMI qualification having associate membership of the Chartered Management Institute at Level 3. The programme is a 2 unit taster. Our Level 3 Certificate in First Line Management provides an introduction to the effective management skills, roles and responsibilities of this area. It will also develop your basic knowledge by focusing on the development of specific management skills that are appropriate to your workplace. There is an opportunity for you to study an Award qualification before completing the Certificate. This can be discussed with your tutor or at your interview. Typical units include: resource planning, recruitment and selection, being a leader, management team dynamics, and improving team performance. On successful completion of a Level 3 Certificate qualification in First Line Management, a number of progression opportunities become available: such progressing on to the next level of CMI qualifications (Level 5) or apply to bcome a chartered manager.
