Further Mathematics A Level is aimed at those students with great interest and aptitude in the subject, who wish to go beyond the Mathematics A-Level by studying a greater breadth of topics and developing a greater depth of understanding. It is especially relevant to those who may wish to pursue mathematics or other highly scientific subjects to degree level. Students who choose Further Mathematics alongside A-Level Mathematics will study double of the number of modules over the next two years, exploring additional materials in all three areas – pure mathematics and statistics. Among the topics covered are complex numbers, matrices and hyperbolic functions, giving students a valuable insight into these fundamental and fascinating areas of mathematics. It is a rigorous and challenging course which students also find enjoyable, stimulating and rewarding.
