What will I do on this apprenticeship? Apprenticeships are a great chance to combine 'on the job training' and learning in a college environment. You will be employed by an electrical contractor and work alongside an experienced tradesperson to further develop and practice your new skills. You will also attend college for one day a week for support and to learn the technical side of your trade. This Apprenticeship covers training in a range of electrical installation components, this qualification provides an understanding of fundamental principles and environmental technologies, principles of electrical science, fault diagnosis and rectification, inspection, testing and commissioning and electrical system design In addition to the main electrical units covered you will also be assessed on your ability to operate in the world of work, areas such as maintaining a safe, clean, working environment and an ability to communicate with others is essential in the daily running of an electrical contracting business. This apprenticeship is comprised of 7 elements Electro-technical Technology Studies, City & Guilds 2365, Levels 2 and 3 Electro-technical Services, NVQ Level 3 Maths L2 (unless you have a GCSE C grade or equivalent) English L2 (unless you have a GCSE C grade or equivalent) ICT L2 (GCSE C Grade or equivalent) AM2 practical skills test Employer's rights and responsibilities. How will I be assessed? We will assess you with practical skills tests and observing you in the workplace. You will also do practical testing, assignments and produce a portfolio of evidence. You will be assigned a personal assessor who will visit you at work to review your progress and to make sure you're on target to get your qualifications.
