(A* to C), provides an excellent starting point for students considering a career working with children. Throughout your studies, you will spend four days at College and one day a week on a work placement. Our students really enjoy and benefit from the combination of practical and classroom-based learning. Placements include nurseries, pre-schools, baby rooms and school settings. The skills and values needed in the sector are embedded throughout this course. You will learn how to work with children and study how they develop. This course focuses on the early years (0-8 years of age) but also explores child development until the age of 16. Areas of study include child development, play and learning, communication with children and adults and safeguarding.
