Foundation Diploma in Art & Design (1 Year)

This course is designed to prepare you to progress to art college or university to study an art subject at degree level. It provides a diagnostic experience for students to explore a broad range of art and design practice. In term one you will follow a balanced range of activities designed to promote skills and ideas relevant to general art and design. Practical assignments and workshops will introduce you to fine art, graphic design, illustration, 3D design and sculpture, fashion, textiles, photography and IT. The second term will allow you to develop your individual skills and interests and to select a specialist area of study, with advice and guidance from your tutors to help you make the right choice. During the third term you will work independently to produce a final major project within your chosen area.
