Course Content:This qualification was developed to follow on directly from the Practical Welding evening course to give those learners a chance to gain a formal qualification in introductory welding skills. The Level 1 course is designed to have a hands on practical approach to introductory welding training. To support this hands on approach the knowledge aspects of the qualifications are covered by a self-study pack that with support allows learners to learn at their own pace and retain the pack for support after the qualification is completed.Units Covered:All learners must complete one of the following units: Tungsten Inert Gas Welding Metal Inert Gas Welding Oxy-Acetylene Welding Manual Metal Arc WeldingLength: 10 weeksEntry Requirements:You will be studying on or will have completed the Practical Welding evening course at Brooklands College.Assessment: Learners are assessed through verbal questioning and practical observations.Equipment: Steel or composite toe safety shoes
