Car Maintenance for Beginners

The course covers the general requirements to safely carry out routine maintenance and repair of motor vehicles including; tyre checks, cooling systems, air induction, brakes, lubrication and routine servicing. We will also be able to demonstrate the MOT Testing process and explain the checks to ensure a vehicle is safe for the road. There are no examinations or course work, however, some written work to be completed at student's own pace. A College Certificate is awarded on request.You will learn through practical work. Some written work to be completed at student's own pace.NVQ courses in Automotive Studies.

Entry requirements

Our workshop facilities boast outstanding levels of equipment and are fully equipped with the necessary tools and vehicles for you to complete this course. We do, however, recognise that candidates may wish to use their own vehicles and can accommodate this within the workshop if desired. We ask that all candidates provide overalls, stout boots/shoes, pen and pencil to the lessons.
