What does the course involve? The course gives you all the basic skills required for perming and neutralising hair:- - Client Consultation/factors - Products - Directional techniques - Brick techniques - 9 sectioning technique - Appling perm lotion & neutraliser - Work within Health & Safety procedures How will I learn? The course is a careful balance of theory and practical work. An insight into the career prospects of Hairdressing can be gained when we visit the industrys largest Exhibition in London. . How will I be assessed? Your theory and practical work will be continually assessed throughout the 10 week course. A portfolio will be built up containing projects, practical observations. Professional working manner in the workshops. Observations from your lecturer will support through this process and offer regular feedback to ensure good standards are meet.How will I learn? The course is a careful balance of theory and practical work. An insight into the career prospects of Hairdressing can be gained when we visit the industrys largest Exhibition in London. .What are the career / progression opportunities? Those students wishing to gain qualification can apply for progression onto level 1 or 2 in hairdressing and/or barbering. Students wishing to move onto employment may gain work as a perming technician or assist in a salon or barbers

Entry requirements

What else do I need to know? You are required to wear suitable clothing when working in practical workshops i.e. Enclosed shoes. Students will need to purchase a training block; this will cost approximately 25 from a trade supplier or internet.
