This course will build and develop a wide range of skills and knowledge previously learnt, either at Level 2 Engineering or a similar course, for example, GCSE Design and Technology, Physics and Maths. You will have the opportunity to demonstrate your skills in the broad subject area of Engineering, which will prepare you for employment or further education. There are six core units to complete: Health and Safety in the Workplace Communications for Engineering Technicians Engineering Project Mathematics for Engineering Technicians Mechanical Principles and Applications Electrical and Electronic Principles The following five units have been chosen to give the maximum choice of career paths when the course is completed, and that complement each other. They are as follows: Properties and Applications of Engineering Materials Applications of Mechanical Systems in Engineering Engineering Design Engineering Drawing for Technicians Engineering Secondary and Finishing Techniques
