Developing Leadership & Security Skills for Public Service (Gold)

This Level 2 Public Services study programme is designed for learners with mid-level GCSE grades who did not achieve English and Maths at grade C or above. The study pathway will focus on the achievement and skills development of maths and English while covering concepts of leadership and security within the Public Services. This study programme has the option of a further year's study at this level to complete a Diploma in Public Services. Learners will need to be focussed on the completion of their skills programme in order to advance to higher level qualifications and to open up greater chances of employment. In both practical and theoretical settings, you will study what the Public Services can offer and where the employment growth markets are within the sector.

You are expected to work on multiple assessments at any one time. You will be assessed through practical demonstrations, logbooks and performance records, written reports and essays, presentations, workbooks, discussions and vivas. Entry requirements

You are expected to purchase a uniform to wear at College and for practical sessions. Kit costs will vary depending on the items purchased: the cost is non-refundable once the items are ordered. You are also asked to contribute towards the end-of-year celebration event and initial team building day. Total costs are approximately £130.      There may be additional events during the year to which you are expected to contribute. Financial assistance is available depending on your individual circumstances.   Yearly gym membership is offered for £50, with additional incentives included.   For applicants from outside the region or who travel over distance, the College has residential accommodation if required.
