Complementary Therapy has been a growing industry over the past 20 years being recognised for its involvement in maintaining good health and helping individual with varied disorders and stresses of life. This course will provide you with knowledge of the principles of Aromatherapy and how to practice Aromatherapy in a commercial setting. You'll learn the theory behind Aromatherapy, how to deal with clients and how to plan effective treatments. You will also learn how to reflect upon the outcomes of a treatment, provide aftercare and offer a series of treatments to achieve a desirable result. This in-depth Aromatherapy study programme explores the extraction, distillation and blending of thirty essential oils from plants, plus relevant massage movements. You will be taught specific Aromatherapy massage techniques, the art of creative blending and practical uses for each of the oils. Sourcing, extracting and distillation of plants, the benefits and contra-indications of Aromatherapy and client counselling. Complementary has been recognised by the National Health Service and a lot of the treatments are offered by NHS. The course is a QCF recognised qualification. This Diploma enables you to practice as a therapist and supports the acquisition of public liability insurance. The course is comprehensive in its delivery of both theory and practical elements. Within the course you will need to complete case studies, assignments and exams.

Name: Aromatherapy Diploma Qualification title: Diploma in Aromatherapy (QCF) Qualification type: Assessment You will be assessed through assignment work, question papers and practical assessments. The assessment process consists of Health & Safety/Anatomy & Physiology- external written exam. Your practical skills will be assessed within a salon environment. The practical module requires you to complete case studies at home. It is your responsibility to document, evidence and provide your own clients for these. Case studies are an invaluable way to see how each therapy works at aiding health & wellbeing and will be marked as evidence criteria for the practical unit.
