Government and Politics

Government and Politics is the study of how democratic systems both in this country and abroad operate as well as how they have evolved. It also considers how people interact with these institutions. The study of this subject also involves an investigation into the political behaviour of individuals and groups both those who have power and those who merely participate in the system. The study of Government and Politics will also encompasses the study of a number of political ideologies and thinkers, a new requirement at A Level and this will act as an introduction to political philosophy for those students wishing to move into this field at higher education level.
