The Functional Skills criteria in English aims to equip learners with the skills and confidence to apply and adapt their English knowledge and skills to new situations in their life and work in a range of contexts and for various purposes. This qualification consist of three key elements, reading, writing and speaking,listening and communication, all of these elements are assessed in separate identifiable tasks. and assessments. This allows each element to be assessed either on separate occasions or in succession.
