This qualification has been developed in response to the need to replace the Adult Literacy and Numeracy qualifications at Level 1 and 2. The objective of this qualification is to provide learners with the opportunity to work in detail on identified areas of Mathematics that need further development and to prepare the learner to progress onto full Mathematics qualifications. A learner completing Level 1 Mathematics Skills qualifications should be able to progress to Level 1 Functional Skills in Mathematics, other study within a vocational area or into employment
