Apprenticeships are employment led programmes designed for young people aged 16-24. You will have a job within mechanical maintenance where you will earn real wages and combine this with learning technical skills. You will also come to College for off the job training to develop your practical skills and to learn the underpinning knowledge. College attendance is generally one day per week. Two routes are offered for this framework - a light vehicle route for technicians who primarily maintain and repair cars and light commercial vehicles and a heavy vehicle route is offered for technicians who primarily maintain and repair large goods vehicles. The Advanced Apprenticeship in Motor Vehicle Maintenance and Repair framework is made up of the following components: you must achieve all components to achieve your Advanced Apprenticeship. You must achieve: Level 3 Diploma in light Vehicle Maintenance & Repair or Level 3 Diploma in heavy Vehicle Maintenance & Repair Functional Skills
