Key Stage 5 Religious Education At key stage 5 students undertake Pearson GCE Religious Studies Ethics. At AS level this course offers an exciting and dynamic approach to the study of religion. The course requires students to be enthusiastic and disciplined. This course suits students who can cope with challenging ideas. It will develop the skills needed to examine ethical, historical and religious issues in a critical, analytical and understanding way. At AS students study two units: •AS Unit A Religion and Ethics 1 •AS Unit B Religion and Ethics 2 At A2 level, the students study aspects of Christianity and Fundamentalism in great depth. Students study two units: •Unit 3A Religion and Ethics •Unit 4B Religious Fundamentalism The key skills that students can develop during this course are: •Communication •Information Technology •Working with others •Improving own learning and performance •To encourage the students to develop an interest in and enthusiasm for a rigorous study of religion •To treat the subject as an academic discipline by developing knowledge and understanding appropriate to the study of religion •To encourage the students to use an enquiring and empathetic approach to the study of religion
