The Edexcel Biology course is well structured and consists of six units to be taken over two years. Students complete the first three units for an AS Level and all six units for an A2 Level award. Assessment is by end of Unit exams and practical coursework. Practical works are an important part throughout all the units. AS Level: Year 1 •Unit 1: Life, Transport, Genes and Health (Exam). •Unit 2: Development, Plants and the Environment (Exam). •Unit 3: Practical Biology and Research skills (Up to 4000 words).
