Laws are rules that help to keep society in order. Studying Law will give you the opportunity to explore what life would be like without laws and how people would treat one another. The study of Law will give you an insight into what your rights are in this country, the way the law operates and explains the role of key people within the legal system. What you will do The course consists of two units: Unit 1: Understanding Legal Values, Structures and Processes •Legal Values •Common Law and Equity •Criminal Courts and Process •Civil Courts and Process •Access to Justice: Funding Unit 2: Understanding Legal Reasoning, Personnel and Methods •European Law •Legalisation •Delegated Legalisation •Judicial Precedent •Statutory Interpretation •Personnel: Legal Professionals Students will be assessed through two external examinations based on Units 1 and 2. Unit 1 will be assessed through the ability to write essays and Unit 2 will be assessed through Stimulus Response questions.
