This is a two year A Level course. Philosophy of Religion (covering topics such as the nature of God, arguments for the existence of God, evil and suffering, religious experience, religious language, miracles, body and soul, life after death) and Ethics (including ethical theories, free will and determinism, conscience, as well as some practical ethics) are going to be major components of all the specifications but there is likely to be a third unit which will focus more closely on Religion, and you will study Christianity. You will need to develop good research, reasoning and essay writing skills and be able to contribute to discussion work as well as learning to analyse texts and appreciate and evaluate different points of view. The entry requirement is a grade C at GCSE Religious Studies although students with a good pass in another Humanities subject such as History would also be eligible to study this course.Further information is available in our prospectus at www.uai.org.uk.
