For this 1 year A Level course there are no formal requirements for students who wish to study Music at A level, save for an all-round interest in music for its own sake. The student who has completed GCSE Music with a good grade and/or already knows something of how chords are put together, how rhythms are notated and how to read music in the bass clef, will feel particularly well prepared. It is also worth stating that the course contains sufficient academic rigour and broad educational value to be attractive to students regardless of their futures.
