An introduction to the language and culture of the country. Learners will acquire the confidence to communicate in basic everyday situations. Topics may include Ordering Food and Drink, General Shopping, Booking Accommodation, Asking the Way and Understanding Simple Directions. Basic vocabulary will be introduced, together with an awareness of some of the aspects of the traditions and geographical regions of the country. The emphasis of the course will be on acquiring speaking and listening skills, and on learner participation. By the end of the course, learners will be equipped with the language skills required to communicate at a basic level, with confidence.
