This free course will help you improve your skills and gain a nationally recognised qualification: City &Guilds Functional Skills English qualification at Entry Level, Level 1 and level 2. The programme is designed to: Help you at work Refresh your skills in reading, writing and verbal communication Improve your chances of getting a job or changing career Help you with ordinary activities such as writing letters and helping your children with their school work. Build your confidence Develop your English skills to enable you to progress onto other courses e.g. GCSEs The course will cover a range of topics, such as punctuation, spelling, grammar, reading, speaking and listening strategies. Functional Skills English is about using English in the real world, so these topics will be put into an everyday, practical context so that you can demonstrate that you can use your knowledge outside of the course.
