"This informal and supportive course is suitable for adults who are thinking about making changes in their lives. Groups may include people who are thinking about returning to learning or training, going back to work, changing jobs or career, starting voluntary work, taking up a new interest, making a change in their personal lives. This course is excellent preparation for further courses.This first steps course is suitable for anyone who is lacking confidence in their abilities and is wanting some positive direction. The aim of this course is to enable you to explore choices in work, education, training, voluntary work and in home life. The course will do this by encouraging the building of self confidence and self esteem through the recognition of your skills, qualities and interests gained from life experience. The course includes topics assertive behaviour, managing stress, how to manage your time effectively, action planning and goal setting YOU MUST BE ABLE TO ATTEND ALL SESSIONS"
