English Language A Level is an exciting course in Linguistics and will develop your understanding of the way language is used in a wide range of situations. You will analyse and discuss grammar use in literature, advertising, conversations and in other genres. You will also study the history of English and its development as a global language and how children acquire it.With interesting text and data-based sources of language, the course will introduce you to the study of English in its various forms and contexts, with the concepts and methods appropriate for analysis . Offering clear skills progression from GCSE, this course allows you to build on your language repertoire. The course has a linear structure studied over two years.You will also create your own highly creative pieces for the Original Writing and Investigation coursework.
