This is a fantastic opportunity for musicians hoping to go on to study at conservatoire, or to develop their performance skill to a higher level. The Pre-Professional Certificate is a one year course (a second year leading to an Advanced Certificate is available) and is an 'add-on' available only to A Level Music and BTEC L3 Music students. Students are tutored in small ensembles (for example string quartet, vocal trio or rock group) by teachers who are themselves professional performers. The student ensembles give two recitals per year. The course is taught on one timetabled lesson per week, so it will not clash with other subjects or take the place of a full A Level.
