In A2 Spanish, we pay particular attention to developing the language of argument debate, and students are encouraged to express and defend their own point of view. They devote time to the study of a Spanish literary text, and develop essay-writing and research skills through the medium of the Spanish language. Points of advanced Spanish grammar are also covered, and applied in the translation of English texts. Those topics covered at AS Level are dealt with in more detail, and additional A2 topic areas (customs, traditions, beliefs and religion; national and international events; past, present and future; literature and the arts) are also studied with reference to the Spanish-speaking world. The study programme is supplemented with weekly oral classes in small groups with a native speaker to practise discussion skills. You will also study independently in the Languages Self Access Centre, which is fully equipped with books, study guides, magazines, and computer-assisted learning resources. A study visit to Spain will further enhance your experience and learning.
