ECDL (European Computer Driving Licence) is the internationally recognised qualification which enables people to demonstrate their competence in a wide range of computer skills. ECDL can help you to be more efficient in your existing job or even the ability to get a new job. This course is held at Morecambe Learning Centre. The course is suitable for school leavers and adults who would like to gain a benchmark qualification in computing to enable them to develop their IT skills and enhance their career prospects. The course is designed to give an initial overview of computer use for the beginner or candidate who wishes to gain a qualification. The qualification is made up of three modules: * Security for IT Users * IT User Fundamentals * Using Email and the Internet All students aged 16 -19 are required to study Functional English and Maths qualifications or GCSE mathematics and English if not already awarded a grade A*-C in these subjects. If you have a grade D at GCSE you will study maths and/or English GCSE. Students with a grade lower than D will work towards GCSE through the study of Maths & English Functional Skills. Students aged 19+ are strongly encouraged to take relevant maths and English qualifications to support progression into further or higher education, training or employment.
