PUBLIC SERVICES - LEVEL 1

This course provides an introduction to the public service sector and investigates careers and issues within the Army, Royal Navy, Marines, Air Force, Ambulance, Police, Fire Service, Paramedics and Prison. The course is suitable for school leavers who would like a career in any of the British public services. You will study the following: * Careers * Health and Fitness * Public Services Skills * Teamwork * Public Services Incidents * Map Reading/Expedition Skills * Leadership * Planning an Event All students aged 16 -19 are required to study Functional Skills English and maths qualifications or GCSE mathematics and English if not already awarded a grade A*-C in these subjects. If you have a grade D at GCSE you will study maths and/or English GCSE. Students with a grade lower than D will work towards GCSE through the study of maths and English Functional Skills. Students aged 19+ are strongly encouraged to take relevant maths and English qualifications to support progression into further or higher education, training or employment. All LMC students will receive tutorial support.
