This course gives the learner an introduction to both theoretical and practical aspects of plumbing and the building services engineering sector. The course is suitable for school leavers who would like a career in plumbing. This You will study the following: * Structure of the construction industry * Fundamental safe working practices * Environmental and sustainability measures in domestic dwellings * Site preparation for working in the construction industry * Above ground drainage * Copper pipework * Plastic pressure pipework * Low carbon steel pipework * Installation, repair and maintenance of plumbing systems * Plumbing science All LMC students will receive tutorial support. All students aged 16 -19 are required to study Functional English and Maths qualifications or GCSE mathematics and English if not already awarded a grade A*-C in these subjects. If you have a grade D at GCSE you will study maths and/or English GCSE. Students with a grade lower than D will work towards GCSE through the study of Maths & English Functional Skills. Students aged 19+ are strongly encouraged to take relevant maths and English qualifications to support progression into further or higher education, training or employment.
