BRICKWORK - LEVEL 1

This course is for students who wish to develop basic brickwork skills with a view to progression within construction. The course is suitable for school leavers who would like a career in the construction industry and wish to progress onto Level 2. You will study the following: * Safe Working, Information, Quantities and Communication * Construction Technology * Basic Blocklaying Skills * Basic Bricklaying Skills * Basic Cavity Walling * Setting Out and Building Basic Masonry All LMC students will receive tutorial support. All students aged 16 -19 are required to study Functional English and Maths qualifications or GCSE mathematics and English if not already awarded a grade A*-C in these subjects. If you have a grade D at GCSE you will study maths and/or English GCSE. Students with a grade lower than D will work towards GCSE through the study of Maths & English Functional Skills. Students aged 19+ are strongly encouraged to take relevant maths and English qualifications to support progression into further or higher education, training or employment.
