The current course will introduce students to philosophy, ethics and issues within contemporary society, such as euthanasia and animal rights. Students will have the opportunity to examine questions relating to arguments for the existence of God, the problem of evil and suffering, the possibility of life after death and the nature of religious language. The course will also entail close examination of the effect of media on religion through the study of such programmes as the Simpsons and Eastenders.
