AS Students will be introduced to a range of different types of writing. They will have the opportunity to develop regular writing and reading practice and learn to express themselves and their ideas whilst reflecting on their intentions and outcomes. New skills, such as writing to a brief, will be introduced. Developing the craft of writing by exploring writers’ methods through the study of published texts will be an integral part of the course. A2 Progression to A2 will allow students to develop their expertise as writers by writing independently in their preferred forms. The production of a portfolio of their own work and experimenting with different styles and genres provides an exciting new approach to study. We intend to give students the opportunity to experience working with a published author. They will develop their ability to share work and give and receive feedback, learning to reflect critically on their own creative processes.
