Not suitable for women during pregnancy. Women who discover they are pregnant during the course must let the tutor know, and this will be confidential. To improve general health and wellbeing. To develop a strong and flexible body and a calm, balanced mind. Physical yoga exercises and postures to be done seated, standing and lying. General breath awareness and specific breathing exercises, which may help improve lung capacity and reduce stress levels. Brief reference will be made to the history and philosophy of yoga where relevant. All exercises and postures will be adapted to suit the needs of the individual where necessary. Students will be encouraged to work steadily at their own level.
