Portrait Drawing and Painting

Development of basic drawing skills; observation, tonal work and line definition to enable the structure of head and features to be rendered. All abilities Working directly from the model, develop skills to show form, likeness, tone and light in short and longer poses. - Suggest volume and structure using line and tone- Apply techniques for achieving likeness- Apply colour mixing for skin tones and shadows- This course involves both drawing and painting.

Entry requirements

A3 cartridge pad, 2B pencil, putty rubber. Any other materials students may already have.Model Fee: Please note there will be an extra fee to pay for the model, which is not already included in the course fee. The tutor will advise the amount to be paid direct to the tutor in cash at the first session, which will cover the full course. As a guide, the amount will be around 10-15 per student, but the amount will depend on student numbers. Please bring cash to the first session and the tutor will give you a receipt.
