This is a course which takes a practical look at Popular Music through the use of Music Technology. You will study in detail: Music production techniquesSequencing Systems and TechniquesThe Sound and Music IndustryThe course makes extensive use of music production software and recording studio equipment. You will develop an in-depth understanding of several software packages including Apple's Logic and Native Instruments' Komplete, and will learn how to analyse typical technical features found in popular music production. Typically, you will be a practising musician or have an interest in technology based music. You may have had some experience in sequencing and recording prior to starting the course, but this is not assumed and is not a requirement. What you will bring to the course is a sense of enthusiasm for technology based music in all its forms, and an ability to work efficiently and give the utmost attention to detail. The ability to read notated music is not a requirement for this course.
