The ab initio course is accelerated and will concentrate on the four key skills of listening, reading, speaking and writing and lead to the GCSE qualification (AQA) at the end of year one. Topics to be studied will include health and relationships, leisure time and media, holidays, home and the environment, in addition to work and education. Students who have gained an A or A* in the GCSE exam may progress onto AS/A2 in the second year.
